"Generaton DeGeneradler" is part of the "Gähneration Dramahendl" mini-collection and shows how quickly right-wing extremist self-staging turns into pure comedy once you scratch just slightly beneath the surface. Where the original features a pathetic eagle with a stiff German right-wing slant, here a completely overwhelmed, half-digested looking chicken stumbles through the picture, accompanied by a whole horde of equally confused disaster chicks. Just as chaotic as this bunch appears, so too was the livestream of the new AfD youth organization "Generation Deutschland" – a kind of HTLR3.0 wannabe show that already failed due to its own seriousness.
In this third variation, the "degenerate eagle" himself enters the stage – or what's left of him. A rickety, almost featherless creature desperately saluting, while neon green drool drips from its beak. The proud symbolic bird of the right-wing extremists becomes a grotesque caricature of itself here: a pathetic shadow that embodies neither strength nor dignity, let alone any form of "leadership." The ironic proximity to the historical "Reichsadler" pathos makes the disillusionment all the sharper. Instead of "pride," all that remains here is a miserable "Yessir, my chickee!"
Worn as a hoodie, this design is a direct blow against the pompous seriousness of right-wing visual aesthetics. And so that the statement doesn't scratch, but sits right: pleasantly soft, warm and perfect for cool evenings when you're cozy but still make a clear statement.
