"Hi folks! The fight against the far-right is exhausting and draining. Anyone who was at the biggest demonstrations Gießen has ever seen on November 29 knows exactly what I mean.
That day was a watershed moment for me. I distributed over 6000 stickers at my own expense and even ended up in the DW-International stream and the ZeitOnline live ticker with my 'Sleepy Sheep' sign. Apparently, I'm a meme now.
I experienced a thoroughly peaceful day, carried by an incredible number of committed people from all over the republic. Next to me stood communists, grandmas against the right, activists from Bunter Finger, and perfectly normal citizens. I stood directly in front of the water cannons at Adenauer and annoyed "Weichei-Pleite" a little. ;)
At the same time, I saw the videos showing raw, arbitrary, and disproportionate police violence. I know eyewitnesses who were in the middle of pepper spray, who were beaten with batons. I know the grandma against the right who confronted Ronzheimer from #HALTDIEFRESSEBILD, wanted to hug him, sang an anti-Nazi song, and with her gesture also wanted to shield Ronzheimer from the crowd behind her.
I saw what established media made of these images, how they constructed distorting narratives that had nothing to do with the reality of that day. All of this is still working within me and will take time to process.
But one thing is clear to me: My respect goes to all those who bravely and decisively blocked the paths to the Hessenhallen to spoil the Nazis' day. That is legitimate civil disobedience. These people were brutally attacked without cause and disproportionately. My solidarity goes to Bunter Finger, without ifs or buts.

Anyone who was in Gießen on November 29, 2025, experienced how strong a city can be when it doesn't let itself be intimidated. The images, the narratives, the distorted headlines change nothing about the simple truth: Thousands of people have shown that fascism has no place in Gießen and elsewhere. Everything else builds on that. And that's exactly why PrintPundit will not become quieter, not more cautious, and not more comfortable – but more visible, clearer, and more consistent.
